key accountabilities

Process Engineering and Plant Facility Evaluation

Process Engineering and Plant facility evaluation Interface with managers and operators at sites across region.

Maintain uptodate files on processes of all plants and project schedule of all projects.

Document and record any changes in plant processes, and inform Engineering Manager Design.

Troubleshoot both plant and customer problems, as required.

Provide monthly reports to Director of Engineering.

Research new equipment and technologies.

Provide Engineering Manager Design cost estimates of new plants or expansions.

Assist with project cost control.

Evaluate possible joint venture acquisitions, as requested, including plant visits, equipment review, investigating process capabilities, computing in-country plant value for equipment and facilities, making recommendations for process improvement, cost reductions and plant staffing.

Survey plant sites and locations for new facilities as requested, including research into available utilities, space requirements for plant and ore storage, and possible restrictions which may hamper the operating facility.

Evaluate the need for new personnel for joint venture companies, as requested.

Responsibilities may also include interviewing candidates.

Knowledge Sharing & Expertise

Provide technical information to companies with whom agreements are in place.

Assist in preparing Capital Asset Requests and discuss necessity of requests with appropriate manager(s).

Assist in implementing new systems, as necessary.

Provide support and direction to International Project Engineers.

Environmental Health & Safety

Maintain a safe, clean and organized environment in accordance with EH&S policies.

Requirements

University (Bachelor’s) Degree in Mechanical, Chemical or related Engineering field.

Minimum 2 years of experience in a project or process engineering role, preferably at a mineral, or bulk material processing industry.

In depth knowledge of wet processes, including quarrying, crushing, hauling, wet-grinding, slacking and classification, conveying, storage and shipping.

Process improvements in wet processes

Strong working knowledge across all engineering fields with emphasis on mechanical and electrical.

Experience in all areas of project engineering, process design and plant management.

Ability to work in both metric and English systems of measurement.

Computer literacy.

Excellent command of both oral and written local language and English are required.

Good command of both oral and written additional language is beneficial.

Ability to travel frequently and occasionally for extended periods.
