稀土材料rare earth material认识和行业现状
稀土,指镧、铈、镨、钕、钷、钐、铕、钆、铽、镝、钬、铒、铥、镱、镥、钪、钇等元素等17种元素的总称,稀土元素又称稀土金属。稀土资源就是稀有金属以泥土形式存在的资源,是一种不可再生的资源,稀土是重要的战略资源,被誉为“工业维生素”,稀土金属作为材料已广泛应用于电子、石油化工、冶金、机械、能源、轻工、环境保护、农业等领域。
关于用途:稀土永磁材料是将钐、钕混合稀土金属与过渡金属(如钴、铁等)组成的合金,用粉末冶金方法压型烧结,经磁场充磁后制得的一种磁性材料。其他稀土材料如稀土超磁致伸缩材料、稀土超导材料、稀土磁光材料、稀土磁致冷材料、稀土激光材料、稀土储氢材料、稀土硬质合金(稀土钛合金、稀土镁合全、稀土铝合金、稀土非全属材料)、稀土化合物在塑料工业中主要被用作塑料助剂。稀土塑料助剂,亦称塑料添加剂或配合剂、稀土在油漆工业中主要作催干剂,催干剂是油漆工业的主要助剂、石油裂化催化剂、汽车尾气净化催化剂及合成橡胶催化剂等。再具体如纯稀土氧化物和三氧化二铁化合而成的石榴石型铁氧体单晶及多晶,可用于微波与电子工业;用高纯氧化钕制作的钇铝石榴石和钕玻璃,可作为固体激光材料;稀土六硼化物可用于制作电子发射的阴极材料等等。

Present situation and talent demand from rare earth materials
Rare earths are a group of 17 elements that are used in a variety of applications. The principal source of rare earths is bastnasite, a fluorocarbonate. Other minerals and ores that contain rare earths include laterite clays, monazite, loparite, and xenotime.
Rare-earth elements (REE) are used in the manufacture of many things we use or rely on every day,which are necessary components of more than 200 products across a wide range of applications, especially high-tech consumer products, such as cellular telephones, computer hard drives, electric and hybrid vehicles, and flat-screen monitors and televisions. Significant defense applications include electronic displays, guidance systems, lasers, and radar and sonar systems.
A burgeoning application of rare earths is in electric vehicles. Over 90% of all electric vehicles produced to-date use permanent magnet traction motors containing neodymium-iron-boron (“NdFeB”) magnets, which contain the critical rare earth elements neodymium, praseodymium, dysprosium, and terbium. Additionally, electric vehicles contain dozens of micromotors, sensors and speakers powered by NdFeB magnets, which help reduce vehicle weight and thereby increase electric driving range. The rising use of NdFeB magnets in electric vehicles, alongside a growing list of other end-uses and applications, is reflected by strong forecasts for rare earth demand growth for the years ahead.
